App Vanish privacy policy
Last updated: 6 November 2026
App Vanish is a Mac app that helps you find and remove the files apps leave behind. This policy covers every build, including those from the Mac App Store, GitHub and Homebrew.
What App Vanish collects
Nothing. App Vanish does not collect, store on a server, sell or share your personal data or your files. It has no account, analytics, advertising or tracking. Sidhant Sinha, who makes App Vanish, receives no data from the app.
How your files are handled
- Everything happens on your Mac, and App Vanish makes no network connections.
- It checks the names and sizes of items in specific Library folders. It does not read what's inside your files.
- It moves an item to the Trash only when you choose it.
Mac App Store edition
This edition runs in the App Sandbox and can read your Library only after you select your Home folder. It remembers that choice on your Mac. To remove it, choose File → Forget Home Folder Access.
GitHub and Homebrew edition
This edition is not sandboxed, because removing apps needs wider access. It asks Finder to move items that need your password to the Trash, and macOS asks your permission first.
Apple
If you download App Vanish from the Mac App Store, Apple handles that download under its own privacy policy. Apple may give developers aggregated download and crash statistics.
This website
This website has no analytics, cookies or third-party scripts. Cloudflare hosts it and may process standard request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site.
Children
App Vanish collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
Any change to this policy will be published on this page, with a new date at the top.
